infinite doorways

This page is from my personal notes, and has not been specifically reviewed for public consumption. It might be incomplete, wrong, outdated, or stupid. Caveat lector.
  • Around 15min into https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gWAZFuz_mFc, Ram Dass claims there are 'infinite doorways'. You start on the material plane, but then you move beyond that to the astral plane, which is very seductive, but if you move beyond that, you avoid the seduction and go through the next doorway, there's another level, and so on.
  • It sounds like part of the practice itself is to practice the mental shift of 'going to the next level'.
  • At the same time, it sounds like a form of avoiding attachment to any particular experience. Even if something seems good, we must be willing to move on, and by doing so, we make it easier to believe in the impermanence of all things.
